What is Project Haystack?
Project Haystack is an open source initiative to streamline working with data from the Internet of Things. We standardize semantic data models and web services with the goal of making it easier to unlock value from the vast quantity of data being generated by the smart devices that permeate our homes, buildings, factories, and cities. Applications include automation, control, energy, HVAC, lighting, and other environmental systems.

The Haystack Labs working group has been on a roll. Over the past couple of months, a series of commits to the Xeto GitHub repository have landed meaningful advances across multiple domains — from valve and damper modeling to AC power normalisation to a brand-new proposal for modeling motors and VFDs. Richmond, VA – August 7, 2024 – The Project Haystack Organization (www.project-haystack.org), a 501(c) non-profit organization focused on developing common standards to streamline the interchange and interoperability of data among IoT devices, smart equipment and systems, has announced the dates and venue for its Haystack Connect 2025 Conference.
Haystack Connect 2025 will take place May 6-8, 2025, at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center.

Project Haystack Announces New Members Demonstrating Strong Support of the Organization’s Standards for Semantic Modeling and Tagging of Device and Equipment Data
Richmond, VA – June 11, 2024 – The Project Haystack Organization (www.project-haystack.org), a collaborative community addressing the challenge of utilizing semantic modeling and tagging to streamline the interchange of data among different systems, devices, equipment and software applications, today announced two new corporations have joined the Project Haystack organization. The two new Associate Member companies are Air-TraXX B.V. and Innon Energy Ltd.
