Richmond, VA – February 2, 2021 – Project Haystack (www.project-haystack.org), a 501(c) non-profit trade association focused on streamlining the use of data from the Internet of Things (IoT), is excited to announce the fifth biennial Haystack Connect Conference will take place virtually May 4 – 6, 2021.
Haystack Connect provides a unique, open-forum for professionals involved in automation, control, intelligent buildings and the IoT to learn and share the latest technologies and techniques for connecting systems and utilizing device data in applications including intelligent buildings, energy management, remote monitoring, and other IoT devices and applications.
Articles in past issues of Connections Magazine have been submitted by end users, including design consultants, commissioning experts, smart building consultants, property managers and developers – all of whom are meeting the demand for smarter, interoperable solutions. Project Haystack Working Groups provide updates to their work and as always, there will be sections dedicated to Tools for Developers and Integrators, How to Get Involved, a curation of social media about Project Haystack Member Projects, Practices and Products, and a directory of all Project Haystack Members.
In our increasingly interconnected world, vast quantities of data being are being generated. But without the means and context to effectively utilize it, that data is useless. The Project Haystack community works to standardize semantic data modeling, otherwise known as data tagging, to make it easier to unlock value from the massive amount of data being generated by the smart devices and equipment systems that permeate our homes, buildings, factories, and cities. The Haystack methodology can be used with virtually any type of system and device data and is not tied to any vendor or communication protocol.
Haystack Connect attendees include the community of Project Haystack supporters encompassing engineers, developers and other professionals from leading technology suppliers, system integrators and service firms who come together to further advance the state-of-the-art of managing, presenting and analyzing the vast amounts of data generated by today’s IoT devices, smart equipment and systems.
The conference agenda includes keynote presentations and technical sessions covering data acquisition, communications, protocol translation, data visualization, analytics, data semantics, modeling and security—all critical technologies essential to using operational data to drive improved performance.
